AUTOMON / CICS reduces CICS system interruptions by early detection of critical system problems and dynamically corrects them. AUTOMON / CICS offers many services to assist in the detection and processing of exceptional and abnormal conditions during the execution of the CICS system. When AUTOMON detects an abnormal condition, check whether there is any corruption of the armature, loops and various other exceptional conditions. After identifying the problem with the CICS system, it will diagnose the symptoms and take corrective actions immediately to avoid system downtime, increase system availability, and improve system performance. AUTOMON / CICS continuously captures significant activities and conditions of CICS, VTAM, VSAM and other operational systems.

In addition to normal processing, AUTOMON/CICS offers maximum efficiency, allowing all input and output transaction requests to be processed within the HIGH limit values that are predefined by system programmers. This is known as the Green Bandeira Box.

If the system has performance problems, AUTOMON/CICS will notify the system console operator of the cause. Simultaneously, the flow of input transactions is reduced by lowering the limit values so that the performance problem is resolved. This is known as the Palco Bandeira Amarela.

In a critical performance environment – system loop, short armament failure, maximum tasks, resource impasse, permanent ECB waiting, armament violation, etc. – AUTOMON / CICS will immediately notify the system console operator of the precise cause and wait for the cycle to expire. The water cycle is predefined by your system programmer. After the expiration of the Water Cycle, AUTOMON / CICS executes corrective actions to alleviate the problem. This is known as the Red Flag Stage.

The behavior of AUTOMON / CICS corresponds to the CICS TS. When the CICS is experiencing a system shutdown condition, a repair subtask will be automatically activated to execute corrective actions to avoid a system crash. All major virtual weapon areas will be checked and repaired. After concluding two recovery stages, the control task will return the control to the CICS (dispatcher domain) for the continuous process.
